Welcome to the Communications Law Guide!

This research guide focuses on resources covering a number of topics in communications law, including radio, television, wire, satellite, cable, and the Internet.

Communications law involves the regulation and use of electronic telecommunication, and governs the exchange of information using technology.

To understand communications law, we suggest starting with any of the secondary materials found in the "Secondary Sources" section of this guide. Starting your research within secondary sources is an excellent way to gain an introductory overview of American communications law, and may lead you to worthwhile primary sources of information.
