REMINDER: BLACKBOARD RETIREMENT (JULY 2025)
GMU is transitioning from Blackboard to Canvas. To prepare for this transition, please review the Blackboard Retirement Resources site, which provides details on the following:
Managing Blackboard Content: Make sure to save any Blackboard materials you need before July 15 as access will end after this date.
Final Migration Opportunity: If you need additional courses or organizations migrated, please submit a request via the Final Content Migration Form by May 6. Archived Blackboard content, including student data, will only be available upon request after July 15. If you need assistance, please contact your library liaison.
Plan for Incomplete Grades & Grade Appeals: Spring 2025 Canvas course migrations will not include student work. If you assign an incomplete grade, download all necessary materials before Blackboard access ends on July 15. If a grade appeal arises after this date, you may request archived student records.
If you have any questions about the transition or using Canvas, the Library is here to help! Please reach out to your library liaison or email us at lawref@gmu.edu.
Below are materials previously provided regarding the use of Blackboard. Please note that after July 15, all materials regarding Blackboard will be removed from this LibGuide.
